Overview:

On 30 September 2024, the Cyprus Basketball Federation honoured its top athletes, coaches, and referees in a ceremony that was part tribute and part vision statement. Held at the Royal Hall in Nicosia, the 2024 CBF Awards celebrated excellence across the 2023–2024 season, while also laying the foundation for the Federation’s enhanced image ahead of Cyprus hosting a EuroBasket 2025 Group Phase.

Purpose Communications was entrusted with the full event management, from creative direction and scripting to protocol handling, branding production, and media coordination. The result: a polished, high-energy awards celebration attended by over 250 guests, including ministers, MPs, local government representatives, and leading names from the world of sport.

Strategic Planning

Concept & messaging: Purpose developed the creative concept and central narrative of the event, aligning with the Federation’s strategic goals and upcoming EuroBasket 2025 milestone. Messaging focused on recognition, unity, and national pride.
Invitations & Protocol: From preparing official invitations to managing RSVPs and seating protocols, we ensured that more than 250 guests, including government officials and media, were welcomed with professionalism and precision.
Event logistics: Despite a tight setup window, we executed a seamless plan that included stage design, seating, branding, backstage flow, and coordination with all suppliers, including for custom award production.
Scriptwriting & Host Coaching: We developed and rehearsed the entire script flow, working closely with presenters to ensure clarity, timing, and energy on stage.
Branding & Production: All visual assets, including backdrops, signage, bespoke trophies, video animations, and digital screen content, were designed and produced to ensure premium aesthetics and consistent brand identity.
Media & Content: Purpose managed all press engagement pre- and post-event, while directing live photography and videography for instant social media posting and future archival use.

Event Day Execution

Venue Setup: Royal Hall was transformed into a premium event venue with branded visuals, sponsor highlights, and a custom photobooth for guests and winners.
Program & Flow Management: Every stage moment was rehearsed, timed, and coordinated, ensuring smooth transitions and a vibrant atmosphere throughout the night.
Guest Experience: From check-in to final applause, guests enjoyed a seamless experience, including welcome interactions, recognitions, and well-paced award segments.
Photo/Video Production: Our content team captured every highlight and reaction, from dignitary arrivals to emotional award wins, enabling CBF to extend visibility well beyond the event.
