On Sunday, May 18, 2025, the heart of Nicosia turned blue as over 200 participants, including the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Ministers, Members of Parliament, Mayors, Ambassadors, and healthcare leaders, gathered for the “Blue Walk”, a symbolic event dedicated to raising awareness around prostate cancer prevention. Organised for the first time in Nicosia by Europa Uomo Cyprus in collaboration with the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center, the event marked more than just a public awareness effort; it set a new benchmark for how health advocacy can be brought into the public sphere. Open to all ages, the walk promoted early diagnosis, open dialogue, and a collective sense of responsibility for men’s health. 

Purpose Communications led the end-to-end planning, positioning, and execution of the “Blue Walk”, transforming a health awareness event into a high-profile public mobilisation. From shaping the narrative and engaging key stakeholders to orchestrating every detail on the ground, we didn’t just deliver an event; we built a blueprint for meaningful advocacy, visibility, and long-term impact.

Purpose Communications approached the “Blue Walk” as a milestone initiative, one designed to spark conversation, mobilise public attention, and set a new standard for health-focused civic engagement. 

Our strategic planning was anchored in four key pillars:

  • Messaging: We developed a focused and emotionally resonant narrative around awareness, early diagnosis, and the power of informed communities. All communication materials were aligned with the event’s core message: that prostate cancer prevention is rooted in education, dialogue, and solidarity.
  • Protocol & Stakeholder Coordination: Our team prepared and managed the official guest list, securing the attendance of top-tier officials, including the President of the Republic, Members of Parliament, Mayors, Ambassadors, and healthcare leaders. Through precise coordination and adherence to protocol, we enhanced the event’s stature and ensured high-level stakeholder engagement.
  • Event Logistics: The Purpose events team oversaw every aspect of operational planning, from stage and sound design to participant flow, volunteer briefing, and material distribution. Working closely with technical and venue partners, we delivered a structured and seamless experience for both guests and organisers.
  • Media Relations: We designed and executed a comprehensive media relations plan that secured widespread, high-impact coverage. Activities included pre-event outreach, on-site journalist support, live facilitation of interviews, and follow-up publicity, resulting in broad visibility across television, radio, online, and print channels.

  • Venue Setup: We transformed the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center’s outdoor space into an immersive, branded experience. Every visual and technical element, from stage placement and sound design to backdrops and welcome signage, was implemented to reinforce the campaign’s narrative and create an emotionally resonant setting.
  • Run-of-Show Leadership: Purpose developed and directed the full programme, from the arrival of VIP guests and protocol-managed speeches to the start and conclusion of the symbolic walk. Our event team ensured strict timing, smooth transitions, and audience engagement throughout, creating a dignified and purposeful atmosphere aligned with the event’s public health mission.
  • Participant Experience & Engagement Points: Branded materials, awareness brochures, and symbolic giveaways were distributed at multiple touchpoints managed by our team. These were not only logistical actions — they were designed to deepen audience connection, invite participation, and leave a lasting impression.
  • Media Operations Management: With dozens of media outlets present, Purpose operated a structured media command point, coordinating journalist check-ins, camera positioning, interview facilitation, and live coverage support. Our real-time oversight enabled optimal exposure without disrupting the event flow, ensuring the right messages were captured and amplified.
  • Content Capture & Production Oversight: To extend the event’s life beyond the day itself, we directed a full-scale content production effort including professional videography, photography, and drone coverage. This ensured that the Blue Walk’s visuals could be repurposed effectively across digital campaigns, institutional archives, and future awareness efforts.

  • Branded content and visuals were adapted and repurposed for use on social media, in stakeholder briefings, and in ongoing awareness efforts, extending the campaign’s momentum beyond the walk itself.
