Three years ago, Purpose Communications began as a bold idea: to create an agency that would combine strategy and creativity with integrity and measurable impact. What started as a vision has since grown into a trusted partner for leading brands and institutions in Cyprus and beyond. Today, Purpose Communications is a dynamic, purpose-led team serving clients across banking, fintech, RegTech, technology, maritime, healthcare, NGOs, sporting federations, legal services, government, and EU-funded projects.
From the outset, the goal was never simply to deliver campaigns. Purpose set out to shape reputations, define brand purpose, and craft strategies that would stand the test of time. For the team, communications have always meant more than just visibility; they mean building trust, strengthening influence, and creating dialogue that matters.
The first year was about proving that philosophy can be applied in practice. With a small but determined team, Purpose undertook projects that required both precision and agility. Early assignments in banking and healthcare quickly established the agency’s credibility in sectors where reputation and trust are paramount. The second year brought expansion, as more institutions turned to Purpose for guidance through moments of visibility and challenge alike. By the third year, the agency had not only grown in scale but also recognition, being entrusted with campaigns and initiatives of national significance.
One of the most important milestones of this journey has been the launch of Purpose Academy, the agency’s flagship CSR initiative. Designed to empower non-profits and charitable foundations through pro-bono training and communications support, it reflects the belief that communication can and should be a force for good. In just two cycles, the Academy has supported organisations such as ADD-ADHD Cyprus, Zero Waste Cyprus, SPAVO, Birth Forward, Angalia Elpidas, and YEU Cyprus, each partnership addressing causes that resonate far beyond the boardroom. The issues ranged from protecting the environment to standing with survivors of domestic violence, with the Academy providing practical tools, sharper advocacy, and stronger visibility. Its recognition with the Corporate Volunteering Award at the 9th Corporate Volunteering and Social Contribution Awards, presented by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, underscored not only its social value, but also the ethos at the core of Purpose’s work.
While Purpose Academy became a symbol of the agency’s values, the broader portfolio of client projects reflected the breadth of expertise developed in just three years. Purpose’s work has spanned everything from national awareness campaigns in healthcare and sustainability to highly technical communication strategies for fintech and RegTech firms; from positioning luxury real estate developments on the international stage to designing engagement campaigns for NGOs; from advising on crisis preparedness to orchestrating high-profile diplomatic, sporting, and cultural events. The scale and variety of assignments have been vast, yet the same principles of clarity, strategy, and authenticity have guided each one.
Within this broad spectrum, specific projects stand out as markers of how the agency’s capabilities evolved. The 25-Year Anniversary Gala of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre was one such project. More than a commemoration, it became a statement about the importance of healthcare in Cyprus, bringing together dignitaries, medical leaders, patients, and supporters. Purpose was entrusted with every detail, from concept and programme design to branding and multimedia, creating an evening that combined celebration with meaning and reaffirmed the Centre’s central role in the community.
Another highlight was the 30 Years of TELETHON Cyprus campaign. TELETHON has long been one of the country’s most enduring charitable institutions, and Purpose was tasked with both honouring its legacy and renewing its relevance. Through a year-long strategy of media partnerships, storytelling, and activations, TELETHON was reintroduced to new generations while retaining its status as a symbol of hope and solidarity.
In the corporate world, the 20th Anniversary of Prognosys Solutions became an opportunity to demonstrate how communications can turn milestones into platforms for thought leadership. As Cyprus’s only XBRL-certified software provider, Prognosys sought not only to mark its two decades but also to reinforce its leadership in financial reporting compliance. Purpose designed and executed a multi-channel campaign that positioned the company as an authority in its sector.
Public health advocacy also became a defining theme. The Blue Walk, organised with EUROPA UOMO Cyprus and the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre, placed prostate cancer prevention and early diagnosis firmly on the public agenda. Purpose managed the initiative end-to-end, creating a highly visible campaign that combined awareness with mobilisation.
On a European level, the agency supported the EU Climate Pact Ambassadors in Cyprus, enhancing their visibility and strengthening their role as connectors between European climate policy and local communities. Purpose designed and implemented a communications strategy that combined events, media partnerships, and digital storytelling, enabling the Ambassadors to share practical messages on sustainability and climate action. By amplifying their voice and creating opportunities for dialogue, the campaign brought European priorities into the local conversation and encouraged citizens to see themselves as active participants in the EU’s climate goals.
Internationally, the transformation of Tototheo into Tototheo Global showcased the agency’s ability to work across markets. Purpose led communications around the rebrand, managing messaging and media relations in Cyprus and through affiliate networks, successfully positioning the company for expansion beyond maritime into land and air sectors. Similarly, the beginning of the partnership with Limassol Greens marked Purpose’s entry into one of Cyprus’s most ambitious real estate developments, where the agency combined strategic positioning with ongoing stakeholder engagement and impactful media activations that reinforced the project’s reputation for sustainable luxury living.
These projects are only a small indication of the vast number of campaigns Purpose Communications has undertaken over the years. From financial services and technology to healthcare, NGOs, sports federations, and EU initiatives, the agency has managed projects of exceptional significance and complexity. What unites them is the consistency of approach: combining strategy with creativity, precision with humanity, and measurable results with long-term vision.
Equally important as the campaigns themselves are the relationships behind them. Many of Purpose’s milestone projects have evolved into enduring collaborations, with clients returning for new initiatives and expanded strategies. This continuity has been one of the clearest markers of success, reflecting the belief that communications are not one-off actions but ongoing journeys that evolve with brands and institutions.
For Dimitris Ioannides, Founder and CEO of Purpose Communications, these three years are a story of people as much as projects. “From day one, we set out to build an agency that would combine strategic thinking with creativity, precision, and integrity — an agency that could make a real difference for its clients and its community. Three years on, I’m proud of the relationships we’ve built, the trust we’ve earned, and the results we’ve delivered. But above all, I’m proud of the team behind Purpose Communications, a group of talented professionals who bring passion, commitment, and purpose to everything we do. The journey so far has been remarkable, and the best is yet to come.”
Looking to the future, Purpose Communications is determined to build on the strong foundation established over the past three years, with an eye on the trends and challenges that will shape communications in the years ahead. The agency is already investing in digital transformation and AI-powered tools that will enable faster, more precise, and more creative solutions. It is deepening its work in ESG and sustainability communications, recognising the growing importance of transparency, accountability, and responsible business practices in every sector. And it is looking beyond Cyprus, strengthening its international outlook to help regional brands expand their presence across borders.
Three years may be a short time in the life of an agency, but for Purpose Communications they have been years of growth, recognition, and above all, impact. From guiding banks, healthcare institutions, and global firms through complex communication challenges to supporting NGOs, EU projects, and charitable initiatives, the agency has consistently demonstrated the role of communications in shaping reputation and influencing public dialogue.
As Purpose celebrates this milestone, it does so with gratitude for the trust it has earned and with ambition for what lies ahead. Its story is still being written — one project, one partnership, and one meaningful conversation at a time. The past three years have demonstrated what can be achieved when strategy, creativity, and integrity are combined. The next chapter promises to push boundaries further, amplify voices louder, and shape the conversations that matter most.
